AVMHA News – November

  • As of the end of October, there are 264 registered players in our association.  (Mites – 21, Novice – 38, Atom – 48, PeeWee – 44, Bantam – 52, Midget – 61.)  We need our registration to grow in the younger divisions to maintain our minor hockey programs.  Let your friends know there are incentives for 1st time hockey players.  (Registrar – Kellie Steel)

  • Tag Day in October raised $4906.37.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered to make this a success!  (Tag Day Coordinator – Karen Kozocari)

  • Rick Schievink is hosting monthly Coaching Clinics for all AVMHA coaches.  There are 17 AVMHA teams, each with a head coach and many assistant coaches.  All coaches are encouraged to attend.  New information/skills every month.  Next Coach Clinic dates are:  Dec. 15th, Jan. 13th, and Feb. 17th.

  • Atom/PeeWee Thanksgiving Tournament was a huge success.  Our Atom Dev. team won GOLD.  The tournament hosted 16 teams and had 500 people enjoy a Turkey dinner.  Full details are on the tournament website:  http://avhockey2014oct.wordpress.com

  • Midget Tier 3 November Tournament had 12 teams, including a team from California (that won Gold, while our Midget Bulldogs took Silver).  They also hosted a dinner for several hundred people.  Tournament website has full details, http://avhockey2014nov.wordpress.com

  • Photo Day was October 21st.  All photos are now in the hands of the team/division manager and should be given to players by Nov. 30th.  Team photos will be posted on the website in early December.
