-Volunteers-

Last season’s implementation of  Parent Respect in Sport requirement for the District has proven to be a great success with positive outcomes that many are feeling the benefits of throughout the Hockey Community.
At the 2016 VIAHA Annual General Meeting  the Membership supported a resolution to keep the requirement to one (1) parent or guardian for the up-coming 2016-2017 hockey season as a condition of each child’s participation in Minor Hockey on Vancouver Island.  More details… Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association (VIAHA) Bulletin – July 2016

Respect in Sport (RIS) for Parents:

One parent of every hockey player must take the “Respect in Sport for Parents”.  If you do not take the course, your child may be restricted from playing hockey.

Access the Clinic via https://bchockeyparent.respectgroupinc.com this online course takes approx. 1 hour. It offers both audio and visual features and when initiated it does not have to be completed all at once. Parents need to have their child’s MHA name on hand so their child/children can be credited with their certification. A parent can enter more than one child’s name. A child can be added after certification at any time as well (for example, a second child enters hockey next season). Children from the same family can also be added even if they are playing in different hockey Associations.
